Driving for change: creating 21st century cities

  • Cubic Theatre London Transport Museum London, England, WC2E 7BB United Kingdom (map)

In this three-part lecture series, inspired by the contents of Roadkill: Unveiling the True Cost of Our Toxic Relationship with Cars, by Henrietta Moore and Arthur Kay, explore how transport can be more than moving from A to B and how we can live better together in cities. This series will challenge assumptions and set out pathways for cities that are fairer, happier, greener and more prosperous.

Cars promise independence, but cities that depend on cars show fragmented communities, inequality and lack of choice. Around the world, cities are rethinking the streets: from London’s low-traffic neighbourhoods to Paris’s 15-minute city and Bogotá’s cycleways. Explore how car-less design can inspire a new vision of urban life built around people, not traffic.

The event includes a 30-minutes talk plus 30-minutes audience Q&A.
